Storewide sale, complimentary food & wine tasting
highlight Green Hills’ store celebration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 20, 2009) - Grace’s Plaza Wine and Spirits (GPWS), a new full-service retail store in Green Hills, will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Complimentary wine, spirits, beer and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available to the public from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event, which benefits the Rob Bironas Fund™ and CommunityNashville, will be held at Tennessee Bank and Trust, 4707 Hillsboro Rd. There is no charge for admission.

An official ribbon cutting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at GPWS, 4705 Hillsboro Rd, next to Trader Joe’s. The ceremony will kick off the celebration. Due to Tennessee liquor laws, food and beverages will be available next door at Tennessee Bank and Trust. All in-stock items at Grace’s Plaza will be offered on Jan. 28 at 10% off.

Store manager, Daryl Gibbs, and his staff will be on hand to answer questions and offer customer assistance. GPWS is the largest wine, spirits and high-gravity beers retail shop in Green Hills and one of the largest in the Midstate. Tours of the space will be conducted during the party. In addition to the main wine and spirits shopping areas, the store also features The Royal Mile Scotch & Ale Den, The Old World Wine Hall, The Wine Cellar, and The Wine Niche. A resource area – highlighted by a big screen television, and stocked with beverage-related reading materials – is planned in front of the built-in fireplace. Suspended from the 18-foot ceiling are four chandeliers from the original Grace’s Shop for Ladies in downtown Nashville. Six display windows have been decorated by local wine and spirits wholesalers. Custom woodwork, shelving and wine racks add to the ambiance of the shop.

“The grand opening serves multiple purposes,” says Gibbs. “We are proud to be partnering with Tennessee Bank and Trust to support the Rob Bironas Fund™ and Community Nashville. We are very excited to mingle with our neighbors, customers and friends and showcase the store. And, of course, we will all enjoy the wide variety of wines and hors d’oeuvres so generously donated for a good cause.”

The event is sponsored by Aleksey’s Imports, Athens Distributing, Best Brands, Horizon Wine & Spirits, Lipman Brothers, Omni Beverage and Tennessee Wine & Spirits. Macke’s Restaurant, located in the upper level of Grace’s Plaza, is donating food. The City Paper is also an event sponsor.
